Friends of Parkville Parks is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The purpose of this organization is to identify needs to improve the public lands and parks in Parkville, Missouri, act as a fundraising vehicle to address specific improvements within those parks and lands, and to improve citizen awareness and involvement through volunteer opportunities.
Parkville continues to be an amazing place to live and play. That is really what is behind the mission and efforts of Friends of Parkville Parks. We are celebrating our fifth birthday as a not for profit and our sixth year bringing Parktoberfest to you. This year could not be more meaningful to us.
The addition of Platte Landing Park gives this community unprecedented river front access. Our trail system doubled, and our canine friends have a huge playground to bring their humans.
While English Landing and Platte Landing parks are the gems of our system, Parkville has several smaller neighborhood parks. Adams Park and Watkins Park offer opportunities for recreation while Pocket Park lends itself as a great place to see and be seen as Mark Twain beckons you to sit and savor the moment. Friends of Parkville Parks members do not take any of these places for granted.
Our forefathers were generous and farsighted. Much of our parkland is donated. Those folks knew they could improve quality of life for generations with their gifts. Banding together with our resources of time, talent and treasure we can work to ensure their legacy continues.
Thank you for stopping by our website, visit with us about what is important to you. Send us a picture of your favorite spot. Most of all, enjoy your parks and share them with the ones you love.
